Teaching philosophy
My journey as an international dentist, with experience across various states in the U.S., has deeply influenced my approach to teaching. I hold a master’s in oral science and an operative dentistry certificate, and my passion for teaching stems from the challenges I've encountered along the way. I am committed to creating a learning environment where students are respected and supported, regardless of their educational backgrounds.
Dentistry is rapidly changing, and students today are often overwhelmed by the sheer volume of information available, particularly through social media. My teaching focuses on helping students navigate this landscape by emphasizing the importance of understanding the reasons behind our practices. By starting with "why," I guide students to grasp not just how to perform procedures, but why certain approaches are taken, allowing them to see the broader context of their work.
To create an engaging and dynamic learning environment, I integrate a variety of educational strategies. I avoid the monotony of traditional lectures by incorporating interactive sessions, multimedia materials, and collaborative exercises. These methods are designed to capture the attention of diverse learners, fostering a classroom atmosphere where students feel free to express themselves and actively participate in their education.
In conclusion, my teaching philosophy is to cultivate dental professionals who are not only skilled but also have a deep respect for the legacy of dentistry. I am committed to teaching in a way that empowers students, guiding them through the complexities of modern dentistry while honoring the rich history of our profession. My ultimate goal is to inspire the next generation of dentists to innovate with an understanding of the past, ensuring that the future of dentistry is built on a strong and respectful foundation.
